Dimitris Emmanouil (mitsouil@yahoo.gr) is a highly educated World Percussionist who has also studied with virtuoso percussionists like Izzet Kizil, Ahmet and Ηamdi Akatay (Darbuka, Rek) in Istanbul, Turkey and has attended seminars and masterclasses by Ahmet Misirli (Darbuka) and the Brazilian virtuoso Cabello in Brazilian percussion.

His list of recordings has over 40 titles in ethnic, folk and traditional genres.
His favorite percussion instruments are: Darbuka, Rek, Bendir (Turkey), Congas, Bongos, Djembe (Latin-African), Tabla, Pakhawaj, Ghatam, Ganjira (Indian), Udu, Sheiker (World) and Hybrid Drum Set.
